August 2

So, I should know better than to write about how Audrey is starting to sleep better. Because you know as soon as I do that, we are going to be in for a rough night.

Last night was a rough night. It started out good enough, with Audrey asleep in her room by 8:30. But then she woke up several times during the night and was up for the day at 5 am. From 5-6 am, we tried to put her back in her room. But she just kept getting up, so we gave up on any ideas of sleep and let her get up at 6:00.

Isla, on the other hand, slept through the night until 5 am. And then she went back to sleep until 8:00. The two month old is not supposed to sleep better than the two year old!!

Oh well, I'm sure the day will come when we will all sleep soundly again, right?? Let's move on to the topic of today's post: the letter J.

J is for jellybeans! We used jellybeans to decorate our letter J. And then we used the rest of the bag to play this jellybean sorting game. Audrey loved sorting and counting the jellybeans, and she did a good job of playing with the jellybeans and not eating them! (I did let her have a couple to eat as well).

For a snack, I made Jello Jigglers!
A jelly fish craft is also in the plans for later this week.

Today at Daphne's rest time (she hasn't been sleeping during nap), I put a timer in her room and told her she could come find me when the timer dinged. It worked. Now, I am not so foolish to think that it will also work for Audrey, or even that it will work for Daphne two days in a row - these two year olds like to keep us on our toes, but it's an idea that I'll share. :)
