March 30...Day 63
I mentioned yesterday that we need some money to waterproof our basement...this is why! The worst part is that there has been no precipitation since yesterday morning, plus Daniel has used the Wet Vac several times to vacuum up the water, and there is still water in our basement. Still tonight more just keeps coming in, and the forecast for tomorrow is more rain! It would be one thing if we never used our basement. But I use it a lot for my stamping business. In fact, I'm supposed to teach a class down there tomorrow night, but the floor and carpet are wet and it stinks down there. It's SO frustrating!

March 29...Day 62
Well, the weather forecast was right and we woke up to snow this morning! It's a good thing I decided to be late to church and take my picture of the snow this morning. By the time church was over, the snow was rapidly melting and now it's pretty much gone! I've never seen snow melt so fast. Now, all that melting snow, combined with yesterday's rain, is soaking into the ground and into our basement! Does anybody want to donate $5000 to the "Waterproof the Shelton's Basement" Fund?

March 28...Day 61
The weather is nasty today. It is supposed to be spring (after all it's almost April!) but the winter weather has returned. It's been cold and rainy all day, with a chance of snow for tonight/tomorrow morning. At one point they were saying 6 inches of snow, but they have changed that down to a couple of inches now. I wanted a picture of this cold, rainy day...but I didn't want to go out in the cold to take the picture, plus it's too dark now anyway. So I took a picture of the weather forecast instead! Yuck!

March 27...Day 60
These are the contents of our freezer right now. It may appear like a standard freezer to most of you, but to us-this is pretty extraordinary. I'm not sure that our freezer has ever been this full. I used to be a very stingy grocery shopper and would only buy exactly what we needed for the week and nothing more. As a result, our freezer was always very empty and our friends would make fun of our empty freezer. But I've changed my grocery shopping ways and am now working on stocking up on sale items. I've also been making two dishes of some of our favorite dinners when I cook: one to eat and one to save for another time. Then I have a homemade meal ready to go for those days when I'm not in the mood to cook. Right now we have lasagna and chicken enchiladas frozen and waiting to be thawed and reheated for a quick meal.

March 26...Day 59
Tonight we left Audrey with a babysitter and went to Lincoln with some friends to see Godspell (one of my favorite musicals!). Before the show, we went to eat at First Wok in Lincoln. I'm not a big Chinese food eater. This is what I ordered...sweet and sour chicken without the sweet and sour sauce. So really it was just chicken. I know, I'm a boring eater. But my plain chicken was good! And Godspell was good as well!

March 23...Day 56
This week is Double Coupon week at Kmart. I never go to Kmart, but I thought I would give it a try since I have been clipping coupons lately. I ended up buying the items in this picture...and my total before using any coupons was over $56. It was fun to hand the cashier my pile of coupons and watch the price go down with each one. It went all the way down to my final price of $21.80! A savings of about $35, not too shabby! I got a few of these items for completely free, and a few for less than $1. But I did find out why I don't shop at K-mart. Their prices were pretty expensive overall. I wanted to use more coupons, but even with a doubled coupon, some items were still not that good of a deal because the original price was so high. That was a disappointment, but I'm still excited about the good deals I was able to find (especially the freebies!)

March 22...Day 55
I'm cheating tonight and posting two pictures. This first picture is the one I wanted to post. But according to the rules I set for myself in this blog, I have to take every picture that I post. I didn't take this picture, so it doesn't count for my picture of the day.
But I had to include it because it fits with the story of the picture that I took. At small group tonight, Wesley was being hilarious! I picked him up, and he opened his mouth wide and leaned into me...first we thought he was giving me a kiss, then it kind of looked like he wanted to eat me! Then we discovered that he was aiming for my hair. He kept trying to either kiss or eat it...it was so funny!!
This is my picture for today. This is Wesley crawling up on my lap again, getting ready for round 2 of hair eating/kissing! So cute!

March 21...Day 54
Every Saturday I look forward to getting my copy of Entertainment Weekly in my mailbox. And the best part--I get it for free! I filled out a survey and get 4 free magazine subscriptions for a year. The catch is you have to cancel after a year or they will automatically bill you for the next year! I cancelled last year, then filled out a survey again and got 4 more free magazines for this year!

This picture is for Kellie!
Today was a warm, sunny day. Daniel took the day off to work in the yard, and this afternoon he walked with Audrey and me down the street to Baskin Robbins. On our walk, we passed the Bungards' old house. It made us sad to remember our friends who used to walk to Baskin Robbins with us on Tuesday nights for Dollar Scoop Night!

March 16...Day 49
The weather is warmer which means it's about time for sandals!! I hate wearing shoes and socks and am always eager to wear sandals each spring. And I got these new sandals just in time! It's supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow. It probably would have been better to post a picture of me wearing the new sandals...but my toes have been hidden beneath socks and shoes all winter and they aren't quite ready for a public appearance yet!

March 12...Day 45
I sat down to practice the piano for a little bit tonight. Audrey seems to like to listen to it, at least for a few minutes before she gets restless. I started to learn this song in college, but never really conquered it. Every few years or so, I get it back out and think "this time, I'm really going to learn it well." So far I have not done more than play through it a few times, then it goes back on the shelf. Maybe this year will be the year that I finally perfect it.

March 11...Day 44
Audrey usually wakes up and talks to herself in her crib for a little bit before we go in and get her out. Then when you go to her crib, she gets so excited to see you and gives you lots of big smiles! It is my favorite thing....especially this morning after she had slept for 11 straight hours in her crib! I think that is a record for her.

March 9...Day 42
My first photo for this blog was a picture of all the books that I owned and haven't read. It was my goal to read all 40 of those books this year. Since then my goal has changed. I still want to read 40 books, and I would still like to read the books that I own, but I've gotten distracted by the library. I'm more motivated to read library books because they have a time limit on them. So I read them more quickly and am usually more excited about them. Right now I have all of these books from the library and I'm currently reading 2 of them. I've gotten into a bad habit of reading more than one book at a time. I am in the middle of 3 books right now...once I finish them all I will have read 7 out of my 40 books for this year!

March 8...Day 41
Here is Audrey, staring at the TV this morning. She is so mesmorized by it. I really try not to let her do it very often, as I know it's not good for her. But sometimes, when she is on her tummy, I will turn it on for a few minutes and let her watch because she will do a good job of lifting her head up to see the TV! It seems that if she is working on a good skill (lifting her head and looking around) that cancels out the bad skill (watching TV), right??

Audrey had her first trip to the beach today. This crazy cold Florida weather finally warmed up a bit, it was warm enough to put her in her swimsuit. We wanted to let her put her feet in the water. I thought she would scream (because that's what I did when the water hit my feet, it was really cold!) but she seemed to like it.

March 2...Day 35
We got a chance to get internet access today so I'm posting my pictures from the last 2 days. I don't know if we'll get the chance to get on again this week, so I may not get to post the rest of the week until we get back home.
Here's Daniel and Audrey at the airport, getting ready to fly to Florida! Audrey was a perfect little angel for the whole flight.

March 1...Day 34
Audrey is 4 months old today!!
We're headed to Florida tomorrow and are not certain what our internet connection will be like. If we have access to the internet, I will continue to post a picture each day while we are gone. If we don't have internet access, I will still take a picture each day and then will post them all when we get back. So stay tuned!
