Well, my friend Amy started doing a photo a day blog, and after thinking about it, I thought I might try it as well. I am no photographer. I just got a new camera and want to learn how to use it...so I thought this might be a good challenge. The idea is that I will post a new photo every day, ideally taking the photo the same day I post it. Just typing that, I am realizing what a big challenge this will be. Especially in the winter, we don't leave the house much, so I'm going to have to get creative with my photos...and that's something I'm not very good at! I am not going to give up on my other blog (

So here is photo #1 and a brief explanation:
Recently one of my friends told me they were going to read 100 books this year. Another friend was going to try to read a book a week. And that made me want to set a reading goal for the year. I used to read a ton. But since Audrey has been born (3 months ago!), I have only finished 1 book. That is so sad. I think 100 is way too many for me this year, and a book a week is also too ambitious at this point. Instead, I thought I might make a goal of 40 books, and I'd start with the books I already have in my house. So today, Audrey and I went on a trip around the house collecting all the books that I own and have not read. We found 41...so that makes it easy. These books will be the books I am going to try to read this year...wish me luck!! I better get started now, because I have wasted half of nap time just setting up this blog.
Audrey is 3 months old today! We take a picture each month with this Raggedy Ann doll to see how much she is growing. I really wanted to get her to smile for this month's picture, but she just didn't want to. She gets distracted by the camera and just wants to stare at it.
Today was Daniel's day off, so he took care of Audrey and it was a work day for me. I tried to get a lot of stamping and prep work done for some upcoming classes I'm doing. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked, but a little bit is better than nothing at all. I made this card for friends who recently had a baby. It was the last thing I made, and I was in a hurry to put it together. But I think it's one of my favorites for the day.
I didn't leave the house today. I didn't have anywhere I needed to go and it's yucky outside. I hate to be out in the slushy, messy, icy snow. Even Maggie didn't want to go outside. She's been out maybe twice all day, which is unusual because she normally wants to go out every 5 seconds. But being shut up in the house all day hasn't been all that fun. I've been stir crazy, Audrey has been fussy and Maggie had to settle for playing with this stuffed squirrel instead of chasing the real squirrels in our backyard. I am so ready for winter to be over!!
This picture is a recreation of what our friend Eric discovered in his mailbox last Thursday. We go over to Eric and Christy's house every Wednesday to watch Lost. Last Wed I lost my ipod somewhere between home, church and their house. On Thursday, Eric found a pink ipod in his mailbox! Turns out it was mine...must have been found by the mailman?? I was very excited to get my ipod back, meanwhile Eric was a little disappointed that someone was not mailing him an ipod of his own. So tonight while we were at Eric and Christy's again for Lost, I took this picture to help remember how some kind mailman rescued my poor ipod and delivered it back to Eric and Christy!
